ONE WEEK TO GO

     We are a group of friends and soon-to-be friends ready to step off into a big adventure. At least we hope it will be a big adventure! We will be leaving in a week for Guatemala from San Miguel de Allende in México.

     It will be an early morning departure. We will meet at 6 AM here at Casa Curtidores (above la entrada) for strong coffee and croissants and board a van taking us the three hours to the airport in Mexico City where we will meet two more friends who are flying directly into Mexico from Texas and Florida.

     From there we all fly together to the capital of the state of Chiapas, then by car to beautiful and chilly San Cristóbal de las Casas where we will have a few days with visits to some of the main Mayan Highland villages and then onwards by land to Guatemala.

     This trip is a more or less recreation of a trip that Joseph McClain did last year on his own. That's me. I truly fell in love with Guatemala and especially the area around Lago de Atitlán where we are headed. I wrote a blog last year which is deep into the process of becoming part of a book.      Maybe this new blog can be a joint effort of the whole group. Will keep you posted.
